About
I'm Angel Simcha — a product builder, founder and operator working at the intersection of technology, education and community infrastructure in Africa.
My work is built around one conviction: that the systems behind an idea matter as much as the idea itself. I move between vision and execution...founding companies, designing products, building teams and running the operational infrastructure that makes things actually work.
Right now I'm co-founder and CPO of HammetLabs, where we're building institutional infrastructure for Africa's emerging economy. Our flagship product, Hammet, licenses an AI Studies curriculum to secondary schools across Nigeria.
Before HammetLabs, I built across sectors. I've worked with EmpowerHer, Women in DeFi, Uniscope, Konoha University, Konoha Financial Community and more... coordinating and leading programs that reached thousands of young people in digital skills, financial education and blockchain literacy. That work produced a specific kind of knowledge: what it takes to build things that actually change behaviour and not just attract attention.
Over three years of building across education, finance, media, blockchain and technology has compounded into a defined competence. I know how to construct A-grade teams, structure brands from the inside out and hold execution standards without eroding the culture that makes teams worth being in.
I didn't start here. I started in operations...managing communities, running the backend of programs, coordinating initiatives that moved thousands of people through digital and financial education. That work exposed a specific failure pattern: most initiatives collapse at the system level, not the idea level. That's what pushed me from running programs into designing the structures underneath them, and eventually into building HammetLabs, where the product itself is the infrastructure.
I co-founded Konoha University, a digital campus and learning community with over 10,000 participants impacted. I lead Witty Ltd, a cognitive infrastructure company centred on the Mental Models podcast. I run Operator's Corner, a 300+ member professional community for operations practitioners. And I publish The Productive Operator, a weekly LinkedIn newsletter on execution, systems and leadership, read by 650+ subscribers.
I hold a Google Project Management Certificate. Alongside that, I've completed 40+ structured certifications and trainings in leadership, operations, team building, organisational culture, AI application and management systems. Systematic learning is a practice, not a phase... it shows up directly in how I build and what I build.
I'm a penultimate-year Psychology student at the University of Lagos. I'm a YALI Fellow. My faith is not background noise. It shapes how I lead, how I build and what I build toward.
Outside of building: I read. I write, which is why this site has an entire section dedicated to it.
